  • St. Mark's Chapel was first mentioned in 1216. It was built in honor of Saints Mary, Lawrence, and Nicholas. The chapel has been documented as a place of pilgrimage since 1297. St. Mark's Chapel was so badly damaged during the Peasants' War around 1525 that it subsequently fell into disrepair. The miraculous image, a Madonna and Child from around 1480, now adorns the side altar of Faulbach Parish Church. Locally, pilgrims in the Spessart region still make pilgrimages to the "Faulbach Madonna" in May.wallfahrt.bistum-wuerzburg.de/wallfahrtsorte/region-miltenberg/faulbach
