A scenic gently undulating gravel track between Firle and Alfriston running at the foot of the downs. Much of it is very well surfaced but it can get muddy and become flooded after rain.

The Old Coach Road was part of the original road between Brighton and Eastbourne, dating back over 1,000 years. Now it's a very quiet track where you may see the occasional tractor.

A fun gravel section that contours the downs and keeps you away from the traffic. A good way to get to Alfriston, just watch out for the puddles at the eastern end, they can be deep and long too!

Originally part of a turnpike road between Brighton and Eastbourne and now a gravel track and byway, this route runs along the foot of the South Downs between Beddingham, through Firle, Alciston and Berwick, to Alfriston and the River Cuck.
