About Phillip

Passionate about cycling, skiing and Leica photography.
Primarily a road cyclist living in South East England who loves long distance rides and steep climbs but also short family rides with my children and more recently mountain bike and gravel riding. Based in west Kent but riding across Kent, Surrey, Sussex and many trips further afield (across the UK, Europe & beyond).
Lots of good cycling routes in my collections.

This is a great ride out to Rye and back, a mix of lanes and direct roads out but mostly little lanes with lots of climbs on the return. Some absolutely lovely little lanes!

This is a great route heading directly out to Rye on a mix of narrow country lanes and quiet roads then returning through some fabulous country lanes. Stop for ice cream on the way at Taywell farm shop, have the best coffee in Rye at Rae and watch for mountain bikers on the hard packed gravel through Bedgebury.

The downslink follows the line of an old railway connecting the north and South Downs way. It’s great with children as it’s almost completely off-road and pretty much flat. Lots of coffee stops on route and we made a shortish diversion at the bottom to stay in a campsite rather than wild camping.

This is a nice little loop out of Westerham along Pilgrim’s way to Wrotham, then climbing up towards Meopham and Vigo. Loads of little country lanes and a few steep climbs. Coffee by the Ford in Eyenesford and back up Bowers Bill.
