After the last tenant gave up the business, the city of Nordhorn took over the listed property in 1983.
Since a thorough restoration in 1989, the mill buildings have been used as a venue for concerts, exhibitions and other cultural events and house the “Nordhorner Theaterwerkstatt” and the “Atelier Sägemühle”.
