Quieter section of canal to get through the city centre section. Interesting mix of industrial heritage and urban wildlife!

The footpath is currently closed pending works. There's a diversion up a flight of stairs but the signs don't indicate where to reacquire the canal towpath. I went all over the place trying to find it. There's a workman there who said to cycle down the parkway, a dual carriageway that's basically a 2 lane motorway in all but name. Wasn't able to carry on so turned back after almost an hour of fruitless exploring in one of the dodgiest parts of town. And then my e-bike control panel fell off. So that's a big thank you to Severn Trent and the Canals and Rivers authority.

Fewer Locks to navigate, not as steep as Aston Route and less towpath traffic - longer sections of uninterrupted riding!
