The Tetenhusener Moor is a nature reserve and extends over the horizon.
The signposted cycle path along the moor is sandy, partly overgrown with grass and very uneven. Not easy to drive on! The view is worth it though!

The Tetenhusener Moor nature reserve is located in the municipality of Tetenhusen in the Schleswig-Flensburg district in Schleswig-Holstein. It is located northwest of Rendsburg in the Eider-Treene-Sorge river landscape. Today the moor covers an area of 205 ha.

The Tetenhusener Moor nature reserve does not have to hide itself with its treasures. The Schleswig-Holstein Nature Conservation Foundation has restored the natural water balance of the bog here. That is active climate protection in the foundation country. A flock of migrating sheep is still tending the heathen with their pink to lilac splendor. In the future, red deer should take over this job. Cranes, common snipe, curlew and black tern use the raised bog as a breeding, resting and feeding habitat.

We have certainly seen 20 cranes here, it is important to keep quiet, they only have a long escape distance, i.e. if they see you, they fly away.
