Gravel path in the forest, well shaded, along the Loire. The coating is passable by all bikes, except perhaps road bikes or after heavy rains. The surroundings are very calm and pleasant.

The start and finish of stage 5 are now called Saumur on the Loire and Chinon on the Vienne. After an extensive visit to the Abbaye Royale Notre-Dame de Fontevraud, we follow the left tributary of the Loire, the Vienne, for a few kilometers in the last third of the tour. It rises in the French Massif Central at an altitude of 880 m and flows 383 km into the Loire near Candes-Saint-Martin.A Hotel Mercure Bords de Loire in Saumur
