The pilgrimage route covers just over 20 kilometers and offers beautiful landscapes. If the entire pilgrimage route is too long for you, you can choose a signposted shortcut (15 km) or split the tour into a north (11 km) and a south loop (14 km).

The 20 km long "Old Pilgrims' Way" largely follows the footsteps of the pilgrims who made the pilgrimage to the Hilly Soul via the "Via Regia", a military and trade route that has existed since the Middle Ages. The "Frankfurter Weg", as the "Via Regia" has been called since the 17th century, was also used by the Paderborn prince bishops and merchants for their trips to Frankfurt, the imperial coronation and trade fair city.
In addition to the main route, which is a good 20 kilometers long, there is a shortcut variant (15 km), a northern loop (11 km) and a southern loop (14 km). All four route options, including precise directions, are presented in detail in the "Teuto-Navigator" tour portal. You can find the relevant links at the bottom of this page.
