Sieur de Monts is often referred to as the "Heart of Acadia". Includes the Sieur de Monts Spring and Spring House, Nature Center, Wild Gardens of Acadia, Abbe Museum (closed), The Tarn, Great Meadow Wetland, and access to several historic trails. It is the first major stop along the Park Loop Road.

The Sieur de Monts Nature Center is open May to mid October and provides an opportunity for vsitors to learn about the biology, geology, and history of the park. The adjacent Sieur de Monts Spring commemorates George Dorr for his work in creating Acadia National Park.

The free Island Explorer bus system stops at Sieur de Monts and runs late June through early October. This is a great option for point-to-point hikes — you can park at one end and take the bus back to your car. Just remember that the busses run in a clockwise loop, so plan your hike accordingly!
