"The Catholic parish church of St. Peter in the center of Rheinberg goes back to a building that was first mentioned in 1106. At the end of the 12th century and from 1392, extensive conversions and extensions followed. The church tower was also added as part of this renovation work and after it was destroyed rebuilt by fire in 1637."
