The castle in Haus-Zeitz has been transformed from a magnificent medieval manor house into a lost place, then into a ruin and finally into a rubbish dump. In 1491, Hans von Trotha bought the estate and village of Zeitz and the noble von Trotha family built the Renaissance castle on the site of an older moated castle in 1536/1537. The castle then changed hands several times and was described as rather unused and dilapidated as early as 1895. After the Second World War and the expropriations in the GDR, refugees and resettlers were housed in the building, and the farm was run by an LPG for a while. Unused, the castle and farm fell into rapid disrepair in the years that followed. Today, all that remains of the once stately castle are the outer walls, including the richly decorated round tower, and the stump of one of the two gate towers. The former castle courtyard is heavily overgrown with bushes and trees and full of rubble from the collapsed castle areas, as well as more recent building rubble. The once impressive castle garden has become completely overgrown. It is shameful that the entire area, including the castle ruins inside, has been used as an illegal rubbish dump over the years and still is. Regardless of this, the ruins still reveal some of the former splendour.

unfortunately only a ruin, according to the remains it was probably a larger castle with agricultural outbuildings

The building was built in 1536. The main building had a stair tower.
The castle included a park, a chapel, a princely crypt, a stable, cavaliers' houses and farm buildings.
