The German Fountain is a gazebo styled fountain in the northern end of old hippodrome, Istanbul, Turkey and across from the Mausoleum of Sultan Ahmed I. It was constructed to commemorate the second anniversary of German Emperor Wilhelm II's visit to Istanbul in 1898 (Wikipedia)

The fountain was a gift to Sultan Abdülhamid II and was built in 1900 in memory of the German Emperor Wilhelm II's visit to Istanbul in 1898. It was manufactured in Germany and sent to Istanbul in individual parts to be assembled at its current location. The neo-Byzantine octagonal dome is supported by eight marble columns. The interior of the dome is decorated with golden mosaics.
