Tips

  • Rheinschiffer ⚓

The big, famous and notorious bazaar of Istanbul. Mostly so full that you are pushed on and on. An Eldorado for pickpockets, but also a treasure trove for everything and much more. Clothes, spices. Carpets and tasty food. Here you have to act, otherwise you will be ripped off. Always go below half the price. Never make your own price suggestion before, stay firm and go, then take it.

Since the middle of the 15th century, this is the most famous bazaar in Istanbul and the shopping mecca par excellence. Here, on an area of as much as 20,000 square meters, up to half a million people are bustling every day.

With the Grand Bazaar it is such a thing, on the one hand you should have seen it and on the other hand you should not necessarily buy something there. If you find something nice and can live with the negotiated price it is okay. I would buy mainly in the streets around the market.

I would definitely visit the Grand Bazaar because it is a highlight in Istanbul, but I would buy in the streets around. It is open Monday to Saturday from 8.30 to 19.30.

I agree with Rheinschiffer, but you must have experienced the Grand Bazaar. For shopping, you prefer to walk in the streets around, which pull up to the ferry terminal.
