Quadrolog Sculpture at Gottorf Castle

The steel sculpture Quadrolog by the sculptor Jörn Pfab in the Gottorf Castle Sculpture Park consists of two contrasting materials: brownish-red shining Corten steel with a brittle surface on the bottom and alloyed stainless steel with a matte finish on the top. The contrasts are also evident in the form. While the base has a strict, clear and reserved design, an expansive form spreads out into the room above it. Although the figure is reminiscent of plant forms, it actually depicts nothing. Rather, both forms are constructed according to clear geometric rules and thus originate more from the artist's spirit than from a direct model from nature.Data about the factory
