The Old Town Church was founded in the 12th century. In the possession of the Archdiocese of Mainz, the church remained Catholic for a long time. It only became Protestant in the 16th century when it was taken over by the County of Hesse.

Inside (the church is open) we can admire the old baptismal font and also the original remains of the altar from 1310 with wonderful paintings.
