    As one of the oldest lead mines in England, it is well worth exploring Odin Mine. Records confirm that it existed as far back as 1260. However, production peaked between 1720 and 1800. During this time 100 workers - men, women and children - excavated up to 800 tonnes of lead ore per year. The mine closed in 1847.

    Seems to be closed off now, but it's a very old mine working, possibly back to Roman times.
