The beautiful little beach overlooks the crystal clear sea next to the remains of the mining structure. A tunnel approximately 600 meters long, dug into the rock by miners, emerges halfway up a precipice offering a spectacular view of the suggestive Pan di Zucchero stack, a 132 meter high natural monument sculpted by time.
Porto Flavia, located inside the promontory overlooking Masua, in the territory of Iglesias, was built between 1922 and 1924. This bold structure allowed the direct loading of minerals onto ships destined for Northern European foundries, drastically reducing times and transport costs. Flavia, the name of the port, is a tribute to the daughter of Cesare Vecelli, the architect of this engineering masterpiece, who is commemorated on the medieval-style turret at the entrance to the tunnel.

From the bay in Mesua, the Pan di Zucchero, a 133m high rock protrudes from the water. A 10 minute boat trip to climb the Sugar Loaf on a via ferrata (Via Ferrata Zucchero) is offered with equipment.

Really nice beach, where you can swim well after the hike and also refresh yourself at the beach bar
