A spectacular and daring Italian military construction from the Great War, overlooking the Astico Valley, with breathtaking views!
It was built in 1917 on the vertical, rocky face, sheltered from enemy fire, to supply men and materials to the Monte Cengio stronghold. After the Strafexpedition of 1916, in which the Royal Army barely managed to contain the Austro-Hungarian invasion, it was realized how crucial the mountain was as a last line of defense for the Po Valley. It passes through a series of "Quotes," imposing tunnel-like strongholds designed for logistical and defensive purposes. In complexity and panorama, it rivals the much more renowned 52 Galleries!

It is also known as "La Granatiera," in honor of the Sardinian Grenadiers who fought fierce and bloody battles here, suffering heavy losses, against the Austro-Hungarians.
