The packhouse next to the mill was demolished in 1976. The Edens corn mill is the oldest and tallest windmill in the province of Groningen. In 1985 the mill was extensively restored. In 2006, the mill was raised by 3 m in order to have enough wind for the windmill due to the higher buildings in the area. The impression of 2 entrance gates one above the other is not deceptive.
