    Hiking

Experience an excursion under steam - with the Weißeritztalbahn, the longest-serving, publicly operated narrow-gauge railway in Germany. The Weisseritz Valley Railway climbs the heights of the Eastern Ore Mountains on a 26-kilometer route, overcoming a height difference of 350 meters.

Steam train operation on a narrow gauge between Freital-Hainsberg and the health resort of Kipsdorf.

Furthermore, the Weißeritztalbahn also regularly offers special trips and events. Tickets for the narrow-gauge railway are available from the tourist information office, which is located in the station building. Kipsdorf train station is also an ideal starting point for planned hiking or cycling tours.

    Hiking

The station grounds and the hall alone are worth a visit. You'd think you were travelling back to a time 40 years ago. Everything is absolutely authentically recreated - just like it used to be at train stations. We were a little disappointed that there was no longer a ticket counter and we had to get the tickets personally.
But at least you can redeem your ticket on the train with a real conductor. And that's worth it too👍
