    Hiking

This open air museum, the first in Britain, is a fantastic place to learn about 300 years of Highland folk history. The 80 acre site (23 ha) comprises fields and reconstructed buildings, hosting many experiential activities that give you an idea of what life might have been like for generations of folk who used to called the Highlands home.

Beautifully extensive open-air museum about how people used to live, lived, worked, etc. in Scotland (from about 1700 to 1950). Comparable to Bokrijk for the Belgians.
What many will consider the highlight of their visit is the recreated village of "Baile Gean", based on an abandoned village near Kingussie as it would have appeared in the 1700s. This was used as a filming location for the Outlander series.
Moreover, access is free. A donation is requested, but you decide that yourself.
