The Prison Museum is located in the tramp chapel.
There are two storylines in the prison museum:
- “Punishments and crimes through the centuries”. This story also reflects the origins and evolution of the Belgian prison system, with attention to the reception of vagrants and the evolution of human rights in prisons.
- "Life as it was" of the vagabonds in the former vagabond colonies in the Northern Kempen.

OPENING HOURSThe Prison Museum is located in the Landloper Chapel, Kapelstraat 9, Merksplas.
The Prison Museum is open from March 1, 2024 to December 19. 2024.
> Individual visitors are welcome on Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
> Groups are welcome by appointment, every day of the week, except Sunday afternoon.

A guide will tell you the cultural-historical story of the vagabonds in the vagabond colonies of Merksplas and Wortel, which is inextricably linked to the context of poverty and justice.
