Aesamari Sattal of Taumadhi Square was said to be used by the priest who came to Bhaktapur, especially for the Biska Jatra Festival. There used to be a puja each year that was specially held for the salvation of those spirits who had an unfortunate death.
The building is home to a café restaurant in the past called the New Nyatapola Café and now the Café Harati. At the balcony upstairs there are great views to the Taumadhi Square with Nyatapola and Bhairavnath Temples.

Taumadhi Square is one of the four squares which is located next to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Here stand the major two temples, Nyatapola and Bhairavnath. Also, there are the Til-Madhav Narayan and the Narsimha Temples.
Bisket Jatra, the Nepali New Year celebration starts and is held in Taumadhi Square.
