The Treetop Walk Saarschleife is a 1250 meter long treetop walk in Orscholz, a district of the municipality of Mettlach. It was erected in July 2016. Located above the Cloef, you can watch the Saar loop from here.
The Pfelpfad leads from the Cloef atrium to a lookout tower that was built above the Cloef lookout point. The path is at a height of up to 23 meters and has a minimum width of 2.5 meters. Four didactic stations are incorporated into the path. These provide information about quartzite, the beech forest, the Saar loop and dead wood. A Rialto bridge and a slide have been incorporated for children. A special attraction is the 42 meter high observation tower with a 70 square meter platform. The way up is via serpentines with quiet areas. The path is completely barrier-free and only has a maximum gradient of 6%.

The path meanders for around 800 meters through beech, oak and Douglas fir, reaching a height of 23 meters. Once here, the path winds its way over the treetops up into the air and ends in the 42-meter-high observation tower, which offers a breathtaking view of the Saarschleife valley. The view opens onto the green hills of the Saar-Hunsrück nature park and, on a clear day, even as far as the Vosges. The maximum gradient of 6% also enables wheelchair users, families with prams and people with walking difficulties to easily cope with the 20 meters of altitude. One of the most beautiful premium hiking areas in the Saarland extends around the Saarschleife.Source: urlaub.saarland/Media/Attraktionen/Baumwipfelpfad-Saarschleife#/article/a7df9c22-4c19-42f9-92f3-1ba556c08e86
