There is an anbandoned Boeing B747-100 located at an industrial park on Jungong Road. Not sure how it got here, but looks cool. Upon a little Google research I found that it was put into service in August 1970 with PanAm. It had gone through a couple of different hands, had various tail numbers and was last flying, so it appears, for UPS.

Tail numbers for this B747-121 have been: N681UP, before N628FE, N819FT, N771PA

The industrial park is named Shanghai Electric Urban Industrial Park (上海电气都市工业园区) and is located on 1076 Jungong Road (军工路1076号). The guard at the front gate will wave you through, and then it is about 250m in. I had also found information on the App Dianping (大众点评) indicating that you can get close up. On my visit I have not seen anybody that would grant access, nor have I found an open gate. The photos are taken through the fence.

Update Aug 2025: saw an article that the plane has been moved from Shanghai to Ningbo. Haven’t yet checked for myself, but appears this highlight is no longer a highlight 😞
