After the death of the last Count of Woestenraedt, the castle was sold to the David family. Ownership later passed to the Neuville family. They rented it out to various private individuals and finally to French nuns. Further changes of ownership to Chevalier Spirlet-Neuville and to the industrialist Léon Duesberg followed. The industrialist Léon Duesberg restored the property. The castle was finally inhabited again by Count André d'Oultremont.
