The Uma Maheshvara is a modest three-story monument in Sundhara square – built in 1675. It is one of three sikhara-style temples in the immediate vicinity dedicated to Uma Maheshvara, a composite representation of the Hindu deities Shiva and Parvati, usually accompanied by their children Skanda and Ganesha. Uma Maheshvara is a popular theme throughout the valley, described as a vision of perfect conjugal love, domestic bliss, sexual intimacy, and sensuality.
