Hiking

In 1947, the Grasyma stone company from Wunsiedel made the shelter of an abandoned quarry available to the Schwarzenbach mountain rescue service as a service hut. In 1970, 26 mountain friends - all members of the Schwarzenbach an der Saale mountain rescue team - came together and founded the Bergfreunde Rudolfstein. A year later they bought the property on the Rudolfstein with the hut - which the mountain guards had been expanding piece by piece since 1948.
