In 1941, this high-rise bunker was built in the former ramparts near the former Mühlentor as a replica of one of the round towers in a traditional architectural style based on designs by Alfred Redelstorff. It served as a model for a high-rise bunker, so the areas for the attachment of the terracotta friezes were already prepared. However, the Second World War prevented the completion of the planned decoration in the form of terracotta friezes. The Mühlentor bunker still exists today, but has no facade decoration.

In terms of appearance, it resembles the Zombeck towers in Hamburg.
