Two intertwined hearts mark the facade of the Lottl House. Inside the ruins, one finds not only a sculpture of a mother and child and a small altar, but also a hand-cranked audio machine. Here, one can listen to Erzgebirge songs and accounts from contemporary witnesses. Particularly touching is the story of the last resident born in Königsmühle, Rosemarie Ernst. Her parents married while her father was on leave from the front for two days, and Rosemarie Ernst was conceived on their wedding night. Her pregnant mother moved in with her in-laws in Königsmühle and, like the entire German population, was expelled from there with her toddler in 1946. The father died in Russia. He never saw his daughter.

      Still looks good.
Was the bust there before? There are also seating options here.

The houses of Königsmühle were gradually demolished and the streets, meadows and fields were no longer maintained. Nature returns to the valley. This is very slow because of the mountain climate and the short growing season. In contrast to other disappeared places, Königsmühle is not completely overgrown to this day.
Display boards on the ruins report on the lives of the displaced residents.
This place is a reminder of the times when the villages were liquidated (1950s). At that time, about 3000 communities, towns and hamlets disappeared. In the entire German-Czech border area, not one memorial has yet been created to commemorate the disappeared places (and certainly not directly in the former place). Most other locations would not be suitable for this. The buildings are gone or the ruins have been swallowed up by nature and you can't even visit the places. The situation in Königsmühle is different: you have several historical buildings, an open exterior and a nice experience in the surrounding nature.
