Cycling

In 1668 a barn church was built in Lamswaarde. Later, in 1809, it was converted into a parish church and a turret was added in 1810. The church was renovated again around 1850. However, in 1871 construction began on a new church called the Heilige Cornelius Church. The church was inaugurated in 1873 by the Deken van Hulst.

Cycling

This church was designed by P. Soffers and it is a brick Neo-Gothic pseudo-basilical cruciform church with a pre-built tower and a crossing turret. To the left of the tower is a chapel. The choir is also flanked by side chapels.
The interior has preserved its neo-Gothic character. The walls are painted in pastel shades, statues of saints are attached to the pillars and the furniture (baptismal font, pulpit, organ case) is also neo-Gothic.

In front of the church there is a beautiful statue of Christ. He has his arms outstretched, but not stretched out straight like on the cross, but in an arch to the front. It is Jesus' invitation to trust in his boundless love and to be embraced. The words on the plinth, which translate to: "Come to me, all of you" (the Bible text goes on: "You who are weary and heavy laden, I will give you rest"), match this.
