The Krusenkupplung in the district of Düsternbrook is a toboggan run to the SH-Landeshaus in winter and a playground for the little ones at the end of June during Kiel Week.

When it's not Kiel Week and the many children are creatively letting off steam here, concerts are taking place and people are busy cycling in winter with winter magic with snow, it's also quiet here 😊...
A great green oasis with recurring activities for young and old - terrific 👏...

        WHY "KRUSENKOPPEL"?
This meadow in front of the Düsternbrooker Gehölz once belonged to the farmer Kruse (1810-96). He bought the property to spend his retirement there and bequeathed it to the city of Kiel in 1883 with the stipulation that it "should not be divided into parcels for a period of 100 years, but rather be preserved as an undivided whole and not be sold in whole or in part."
In 1900, the city transformed the area into an English landscape garden. This gave the people of Kiel free access to this paddock. In Low German, it soon became known simply as "Kruse sien Koppel."

Today, all Kiel residents call it by its official name: Krusenkoppel.
