In 1772 he married Therese Auguste, the widow of the late Kriegsrat Lüder, general tenant of the royal domain office Giebichenstein. She inherited the rich goods Dieskau (now part of Kabelsketal) and Lochau from her father. His wife died a year later, her son from his first marriage received the estate Lochau in the will, Carl Christoph received Dieskau.
