The Chapel of the Painful Mother, usually simply called Marienkapelle, is a late Gothic pilgrimage chapel.
Finally, in 1514, today's late Gothic chapel was consecrated, about which Hermann von Weinsberg reported in 1553 that many people in Cologne had visited it during the plague and asked for help there.

The chapel is a single-nave, ribbed-vaulted brick building with a three-sided chancel, double stepped buttresses and a six-sided slated ridge turret. It has a small late-Gothic image of Vespers from the beginning of the 16th century in a carved altarpiece from around 1700.
