The three mile stretch of beach at Woolacombe is backed by an extensive area of sand dunes. There is a footpath along the dunes which you can follow from Challacombe Hill Road closest to Woolacombe, through Woolacombe Warren to just below Pickwell. It is a beautiful way to enjoy Woolacombe Bay at any time of the year.

Keep an eye out for 'The Ladies', a herd of North Devon Ruby Red Cattle. They are part of the National Trust's project to restore the dunes.
