St. Bartholomew's Church is a neo-Gothic brick church consecrated in 1880
in the center of the town, with spacious green spaces surrounding the church.

Construction of the new church began in 1879. The church was consecrated on the 25th Sunday after Trinity,
    November 14, 1880.
There had previously been an older church in Neuenkirchen.
It had become too small for the large congregation.
Because many congregants could not find a seat during services, the decision was finally made to build a new one.

One of the oldest objects in the church is the crucifixion group above the altar. Originally, it stood in the old church on a triumphal arch between the choir and the nave, as can still be found in old churches today.
It was only placed above the altar during the church renovation in 1939.
The crucifixion group dates from the end of the 15th century.
Even older is the bronze baptismal font from the late 14th century.

It consists of a bronze cauldron supported by three figures.

Information about services and events can be found right next to the church entrance and in flyers and parish newsletters available inside.

Since fall 2014, St. Bartholomew's Church has also been a cycle path church. Benches and seating in the open parish garden surrounding the church invite you to rest.

There was already an older church in Neuenkirchen. It had become too small for the large church community. Because numerous parishioners did not get a seat during the services, there was a dispute over an expansion of the church or a new building for 50 years.

On December 21, 1877, the church council decided with 3: 2 votes to build a new church. Nothing has been recorded on the demolition of the old church.

Good place for a break (next door is a bakery) and take pictures.
