A really impressive church that was also open - the absolute highlight in Dieburg.
Dieburg has been the destination of pious pilgrims since the Middle Ages. It already had a Lady Chapel in 1232. To this day, our large, spacious pilgrimage church is still popularly known as the "chapel". This is how the name of the former small Marienkapelle, which is the starting point of our pilgrimage, has been transferred to the large building that has grown over the centuries. The word "Chapel of Mercy" indicates the many answers to prayer and the intercession of Mary.
