A really impressive church that was also open - the absolute highlight in Dieburg.
Dieburg has been the destination of pious pilgrims since the Middle Ages. It already had a Lady Chapel in 1232. To this day, our large, spacious pilgrimage church is still popularly known as the "chapel". This is how the name of the former small Marienkapelle, which is the starting point of our pilgrimage, has been transferred to the large building that has grown over the centuries. The word "Chapel of Mercy" indicates the many answers to prayer and the intercession of Mary. More information about the history of the pilgrimage can be found at the bottom of this page.Although the Dieburg Chapel of Grace is the destination of many pilgrimage groups from April to October, the main pilgrimage times are May and September. Our pilgrimage shop right next to the church is open for you on Fridays and Sundays, before the regular services, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. It is also barrier-free accessible via ramps. bistummainz.de/pfarrei/dieburg-peter-und-paul/Wallfahrt

The Dieburg pilgrimage church was the parish church of the city of Dieburg until 1569. It is dedicated to the Holy Apostles St. Peter and Paul and still belongs to the Dieburg parish of St. Peter and Paul. The church is in the former suburb of Altstadt, outside the medieval city walls. Wikipedia
