A Roman estate was discovered next to the road to the hamlet of Kreut in 1956. This existed from the beginning of the 2nd century AD to the middle of the 4th century. The Villa Rustica is one of the rare atrium houses in Germany. Hypocaust heating systems, remains of wall paintings and glass windows are evidence of the high living standard of the complex. Another highlight is the Roman herbal teaching garden that was laid out around the protective building.
