The Gampenpass is not very spectacular, nor does it offer a great view. The descent on the north side towards Merano or Bozen is all the more beautiful.

I started from Lana on the Gampenpass / Gampenjoch / Passo Palade with the road bike. Exhausting, but nice tour. Then down to Fondo to drive up again to the Mendel Pass / Passo Mendola. The hottest then the subsequent descent down in the direction of Bolzano, Eppan, St. Michael. From the pass departure wonderful view on Bolzano, Kaltern and the Kalterer lake.
