After more than 35 years of using an 'emergency organ' from the firm Valckx & Van Kouteren, the Reformed Municipality bought the organ from the former Broederenkerk in Zutphen in December 1980. This organ was built from 1824 to 1828 by N.A. Lohman & Zoon, using the A.F.G. Heijneman placed the organ from the former Sint-Janskerk in Arnhem. The origin of this instrument lies in Huijse Schaffelaar in Barneveld.
The starting point for the front design in 1824 was the concept of the Lohman organ in Eenrum (Gr.).

A church in Heusden is mentioned as early as 1210. The rest, the Romanesque tower, was destroyed in 1944. In 1328 the church was expanded to include a north and south aisle. There will also be a Gothic style choir. In 1555 a transept was built in place of the north nave and three bays were built in alternating layers of brick and natural stone. Here you can still find decorations in the Gothic style.

The town fire of 1572 destroyed large parts of the church. A thorough restoration follows from 1579. In 1628 the central choir on the north side, which was probably built in 1412, was demolished. In the years 1637-1639 the choir is renewed. During the night of November 4th/5th, 1944, the tower was blown up by retreating German troops. The western part of the church is also destroyed. After the war, the church on the west side was soberly closed and restored. The tower, the western chapels and the destroyed bay window were not rebuilt. The extent of the foundations is indicated in the pavement.

In addition to beautiful tombstones, the church contains text panels from the 16th and 17th centuries and a recently restored guild plaque, bells from 1334, 1501 and 1518. A bell from 1412 hangs in the turret today. The mausoleum of Baron Van Friesheim, governor of Heusden from 1711 -1733, is very beautiful and dates from 1733. This funerary monument was designed by Jacob Marot and sculpted by Jan Baptist Xaverij.
