In 1901 the station building was built on the Lake Constance Belt Railway, which had been in operation two years previously. In 1985, automatic barriers and traffic lights replaced the last barrier keeper. In 1989 the building was bought by the municipality of Eriskirch.
On September 29, 1994, the Eriskirch Nature Conservation Center was opened. Over the years, the nature conservation center has developed into the most important nature education facility in the Lake Constance district.

The old train station became the nature conservation center. A successful new use 👍

The entire area is dedicated to nature conservation and the preservation of biodiversity. There are many information boards explaining what to observe and where. The center offers various lectures for those interested. A big shout-out to the volunteers who do so much work. We were lucky enough to see the Siberian iris in bloom in May.
