Over a length of 35 kilometers, the Ofen Pass connects the Graubünden towns of Zernez and Santa Maria. Its name is derived from the melting furnaces that existed in the region until the late Middle Ages. A replica of one of these ovens can be found at the top of the pass.

Hiking

Very scenic pass, open all year round. There is currently major construction work on the already narrow road, with some one-way sections.
The pass is the starting point for many hikes and mountain bike tours. The hotel has very good cuisine.
