Oriented, neo-Gothic parish church from 1874 after a design from 1873 by G. Hansotte, located in the middle of a surrounding, walled cemetery, opened on the north side by a later extension.

There was probably an independent parish in Rossem as early as the 12th century, the patronage of which was held by the Abbey of Dielegem. In 1220 there was already talk of a tithe area of this parish.

In the 17th century, Rossem again became dependent on the parish of Wolvertem. A church in Rossem was first depicted in 1735. At that time it was a one-aisled Gothic church. In 1767 a presbytery was added and the church was again served by a priest living in Rossem. In 1790 Rossem became an independent parish again.

The church was isolated from buildings in the field. Later on, some buildings were built near the church: the street Rossemdorp. In 1872 a primary school was built. In 1874, the then mainly classicist church was demolished and replaced by a neo-Gothic church building designed by Gustave Hansotte. The Gothic west tower, raised in 1839, was incorporated into the new church. The new church was consecrated in 1877.
