Around the turn of the 20th century, the grounds underwent extensive redesign.
After the former Dresden road was rerouted to the other side of the Weißeritz River, the tranquility of the Bienert Garden was no longer disturbed as much, and in a gentle renaturalization process, native perennials, shrubs, and trees are gradually being introduced.
