2 minutes past the first set of hotels you reach at the top of a very steep and consistently upwards climb is a lovely rustic hotel.

Reasonable room price at R500/£3.30

Enjoy a homecooked meal from R300/£2.00 to R700/£4.30.

the dining room has a fire, can get a but smokey, but still heated!

A small village just before the more popular and often full Lama Hotel.

If youbare trekking unguided it is recommended you stop here for your first full night on the actual trek.

We stayed at The Moonlight Guest House, they offered us a room for R200/£1.30. The room is one of the more basic on the trek, WiFi isn't readily available but snippets of 4g can be found on the top floor. This hotel can be found just past the busier initial buildings you arrive too.

Food is reasonable we enjoyed the suggested Garlic Soup, good for assisting with the increasing altitude at R400/£2.30 per serving.

There is a shared traditional 'floor' toilet and a hot shower can be bought for R200/£1.30.
