From the cycle path you have a great view across the meadows to Herbstein, which lies on a small hill. A detour to the town and a visit to the old town with its pretty half-timbered houses or the spa is well worth it.

Herbstein is a town in the Vogelsbergkreis in central Hesse. The city has been a recognized climatic health resort since 1962 and, since 2000, it has also been a state-approved spa with - according to its own statements - "Hesse's highest mineral spring".
The dominant location of Herbstein is inspiring, visible from afar on a volcanic cone. The pretty town with a walkable city wall is built in a ring construction. It is widely known for its tradition of the Herbsteiner “Foaselt” (Carnival), which dates back to the 17th century.
For nature lovers, Herbstein is an ideal starting point for hiking and cycling. The VulkanTherme, the small but fine thermal movement bath with style, promises relaxation after the tour.

The bike path is fantastic. And the view of Herbstein is really worth it. The gallows can also be admired nearby.
