The nature reserve "Schalksbachteiche" lies in a valley basin of the Lower Vogelsberg and includes two artificially dammed ponds, which are fed by the Schalksbach, as well as extensive wet meadows with rare plant communities.
The ponds are easy to walk around and offer the attentive observer a large variety of plants and animals.
