The Triton Fountain is located in the central square of Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, opposite the entrance to the Cathedral. The fountain is the work of the great sculptor from Palermo, Mario Rutella, was erected here in 1881 and represents the sea god from Greek mythology, Triton. This fountain, as well as many of its kind in the city, is proof that Monreale also has a great cultural heritage beyond the churches.
