The so-called Drosteturm, which stands a little to the side in the park, belonged to the former predecessor of today's castle - the Gräftenschloss. The old tower used to have a church dedicated to St. Antonius dedicated chapel, as indicated by an inscription. This romantic tower was the favorite spot of the Westphalian poet Annette von Droste-Hülshoff when she often visited her aunt in Wehrden between 1818 and 1822. It is therefore called the Droste Tower.
