The chapel, dedicated to Eucherius of Orléans, was built in the 12th century in Romanesque style. The material used was tuff.
In 1880 a very drastic restoration was carried out by Auguste Van Assche. Parts of the original building were mutilated. The originally baroque interior was adapted in neo-Romanesque style. Also in 1966, a restoration of the portal and facade took place, in which gray brick was used instead of the original tuff.
The chapel is a place of pilgrimage in honor of Saint Bertilia, one of the Holy Three Sisters.
